Coping Skills

There are certain psychological skills or resources that are most effectively taught and trained in a consultation setting. For example, social skills can be practiced by the therapist, using modeling (imitation) or role-playing techniques, among others. These skills can be trained, and the positive aspect of this type of training is that we can practice our skills and share our experiences in a safe, guided learning environment through theoretical and practical content and role-playing techniques.

Contents such as communication skills, stress management, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence are important enough to prompt us to seek new ways to self-regulate our stress, learn to manage our emotions, better understand ourselves, and improve our communication skills, among other things. This will allow us to grow as individuals and, ultimately, improve our quality of life.
